This Friday, September 28, has been declared Pajama Day by our Head of School for the Day, Kimball Gogel! Miss Gogel will take charge at carpool, observe classes, conduct a calendar meeting, and assist teachers, as needed. Students and teachers are welcome to wear pajamas, robes, and slippers for the day by decree or Miss Gogel.
Two of our three divisional coffees are scheduled for next week: Middle School on Tuesday, Oct. 2 and ECC on Thursday, Oct. 4. The Lower School Coffee has been moved to Thursday, Oct. 11, in order for LS parents and me to attend the chapel service and reception (Wed., Oct. 3) for Fr. Todd Bruce, our Associate Rector who is moving to Folsom, CA to become rector of a parish there. The coffees are opportunities for parents to share observations, successes, and challenges that they and/or their children are experiencing. We do not discuss teacher issues, as those should be addressed directly with the teachers, but carpool, curricular, extra-curricular, and other issues are welcome.
The ECC through second grade Chapel on Wednesday, Oct. 3rd, will be led by Fr. Todd in the ECC Commons area. Since seating is very limited in this area with the number of children and parents who usually attend, we expect standing room only. The Parents' Guild will be hosting a reception for Fr. Todd after the chapel service (at approximately 9:15 a.m.) in the north wing multipurpose room for those who would like to wish him well. Todd has meant a lot to all of us and will be missed.
